magazine cover critique

I like this picture because of how the photographer got him so dark and only got his tattoo exaggerated.

I really like this picture because of how it mixes the drawings and the real picture with such vibrant colors.

I like this cover because of how plain it is but the composition and how it actually looks half in water half out looks really good.

pop art critique

pop art is a drawing usually with exaggerated colors of something popular in today’s society. I chose Richard Hamilton, his artwork is considered pop art because it showed popular life in Britan usually with 2 people homes through collages of rooms with many bright colors. The one above is my favorite because it’s a collage of many different pictures he did not take but put together and cut out in a way to make an entirely new situation. I really like his work because his collages have to be some of the best I have ever seen.

nat geo covers

I like this picture because it really makes me wonder what this is that the picture was taken of.

I like this picture because of the composition of the background with the cross and the birds.

I love this picture because of how normal it looks until you see the background and the way the clouds of ash look almost natural.

100 most influenceable pictures

Andres Serrano

Piss Christ

this pictures creation is disgusting but is basically a crucifix submerged in the photographer’s pee. I chose it only based on looks though. I think it looks very deep and sophisticated when it really isn’t.

Eddie Adams

Saigon execution

This picture was taken during the Vietnam war and captured the moment that a suspected terrorist was executed by an officer because he said if he didn’t show strength his men wouldn’t follow him. I chose this picture because how it really captured the perfect moment and the panic on his face while the officer remains entirely calm.

Malcom Browne

the burning monk

The picture was taken when a monk in protest to his corrupt government set himself on fire and sat entirely peacefully until he burned to death. I like this picture because when you look into his face you see nothing but peacefulness.
